Thanks to jlb225oz for sending me this link
http://auspost.com.au/about-us/price-changes.html
I have also seen a printout that announces new prepaid satchels as of Monday March 5th. These replace the current red/white prepaid bags and are dearer BUT they do include tracking AND there is a 3kg-5kg bag. I really would like a 500gm -1kg, but no one in Aust Post listens to me.

😞
I have over 200 sales a month for items that were under 250grams
the increase to me will be over $400 which has to then be pasted on to our customers ,
Without a doubt I will lose business as some items only weight 20-50grams .
if I sell a item for $5.00 weigh about 50grams when packed I use to charge our customers $3.00 for postage this included a small packing fee which only covered the post bag, so his total cost was $8.00 , never had a problem for 8 years, other than the ones that went missing in the mail.
now that same person for the same deal will cost him or her $11.60 , we are all working for ebay and Australia post bloody greedy morons who I will bet you , they will kill the Chook that layed the golden egg for them, yes the millions of small parcels that are sent each month , will reap Australia post Millions for no extra work , but once the consumer reacts to our increase they will wonder what’s happened.
We as sellers can watch the negatives roll in as the consumer
Who has no idea what’s going on, will just thing that the seller is ripping them off.
looks like more business for the Chinese who do not pay GST Australia Taxes or the crap now Aussy Post force down our necks

Is the ebay postage calculator reflecting the postage increases.
I sold two items today and used the ebay postage setup, when I went to post the items it cost my $6 more and I lost out.

never ever trust the ebay postage calculator

WORD OF WARNING, GOT CAUGHT OUT THE OTHER DAY.
Australian Post is now collecting a $9.00 US Customs Fee imposed by the USA for parcels weighing over 500g and I got wacked with the fee for some boots going to the States. Looks like I won't be selling into the USA any more. :_|

That security surcharge has been around since late 2010, more-champagne. It's only to the USA, not any other countries as yet.

Has anyone noticed that the eBay calculator is now giving us $11.65 for a 3kg satchel instead or $11.20/$11.40? I asked eBay and they said Australia Post was responsible due to computerised figures that they supply. Australia Post denied it.

Do you have a handling fee?
eBay is quoting $6.05 for a eBay C&S satchel instead of $6.20, but it's only been a few weeks.
I have no idea about standard satchels as I don't use them. C&S are cheaper and provide Paypal acceptable tracking.

No handling fees, nearly all my packaging is recycled and I see costs such as time as being incorporated within the price of the books.

I have found that I have a lot less sales the last year. Australia Post is the most expensive service of the whole world. The US helps their traders with low costs in the US. Even Europe is cheaper then us. China throws it all in for free for small items. Now Ebay is not helping very much either with their prepaid parcels having rocketed in price. So disappointed with our Postal Service.
