Mine would be to start off the negotiation with "I don't need it"
Showing any sort of demand in something usually kerbs any future negotiations.
ie: I've been after one of these for years, doh! good way to blow the haggling that may have occured had you rather just asked hom much it was and then start back with, "I don't really need it" even start walking away from it so as to make the vendor know you can leave it so that they may reply with a "go on, you can have it for ..." :^O

Hi
His name is William, he has a ginger beard and hair, drives a red ford, turns books over for $2 each.
Not sure about the records.
Good news in Perth Save the Children are having a yard sale again, the date is sunday the 23rd of March
from 9 until 2. Corner of Underwood and Brockway Ave in Shenton Park.

Feeling good thanks sqauki and richo, the opp shops on the coast here have been pretty much cleaned out after the holidays, we have too so we're looking around the traps again trying to find all the best sellers. Sold half of the Dr Who's Denis found for me - 56 of them.

I've been checking to see when our next library sale is David. No luck so far. I think it was in April last year instead of the usual Feb. There's a school/church fete in Traralgon in March, they usually have plenty of books. Each time I've seen the notice outside the church I haven't had a pen with me to write the date down, lol. There's a new oppy in town too, they have a well stocked book section.

This is a bit off topic but just a tip - dont include ISBN numbers in listing unless your book is near impossible to buy elsewhere. Work out why yourself.

I include ISBN in all my listings. For those that are new enough to have one.
What I don't do is use eBay's catalogue details.
I don't think the average buyer is buying by ISBN anyway, unless the book is near impossible to buy elsewhere. They are looking for a book written by a particular author. ISBNs are there for those who are after particular editions, even though one ISBN can span many editions.
So what is your 'advice' based on?

nobody come up with a new technique of getting stock?
Noticed you can buy books by the container in the US.
Only I wouldn't trust the quality of books they put inside.
I personally like book shop closing sales.
You have to be early to get the better stock and although the owners are not very negotiable on price at the start of their closing down period. You just have to press them with a big purchase and a discount befitting the quantity you want.

Perth
Next weekend 14th and 15th June 10am-4pm
Save the Children are having a big sale at Joondalup Arena
Have heard they are filling a basketball court, and if successful will be heavily restocking
over night.
