Best-selling author Maeve Binchy has died aged 72 after a short illness, Irish broadcaster RTE has reported.

I read my first Maeve Binchy book, Light A Penny Candle, in high school (borrowed from the school library).  The last one I read was one that Judy left at my place earlier this year. Her books were like visiting old family friends. I loved how characters from previous books would appear in new books, so you knew what they were up to.

I have only read a few of her books but I've love them all.  A ebay friend was having a cleanout  and sent all her MB's to me.  Might have to make Tara Road my next read as it's in the box. 🙂
