Who is ebaying today?

I thought I'd get this thread up again.:-)

I've had enough excitement here for one day and am off to find my zzz's.

Good thing the weekend is coming up so we can play with all this new stuff.

Oh that's sad Kelly. He was one of my favourites. He had one of those voices you could just close your eyes and drift away to. He's definitely had a good innings though.

I left England in 1962 and fondly remember him for his acting in Emergency Ward 10. I was pleasantly surprised when he later surface in Australia. Yes Carla, he had a good innings.

Re: Who is ebaying today?

Heard about Bud Tingwell on ABC radio before 9.30 this morning. Great actor.

Lawrence, 88 boxes?! Wow!! How many books is that?

Re: Who is ebaying today?

About 5000 pb, and 500 hb sqauki- plenty of work thats for sure. There is some non-book stuff there but the bulk of it this time is books. The truck has been and gone and I'm staring at yet another wall of boxes Already over 500 boxes of unsorted/unpriced but handpicked in the backlog but I needed more paperbacks and ebay books.
Unpacked 2 boxes so far- 1 paperbacks, and one almost all audio CD books. Methinks the CDs might have to go on the bay over the weekend. Just like Christmas as I've already forgotten what I bought.

Re: Who is ebaying today?

It's fun isn't it Lawrence. B-) When I buy my books, I usually buy 1,000 at a time and it's always a great mystery as to what the boxes contain. I don't hand pick mine, just buy a bulk of whatever the dealer has going at the time.

In between bulk books time I'm always fiddling around at garage sales and op-shops.

Re: Who is ebaying today?

carla- I almost always hand pick but by the time I get to them again it is still a surprise. Some of my unsorted boxes go back 5-6 years.
Even this lot that I bought in the US in March is mostly a mystery to me by now ๐Ÿ™‚ I had forgotten about buying all those audio books for a start. Full set of Evanovich among them too!
Tucked into the edge and corner of one of the paperback boxes was an 1890 Principles of Dog Training and a rare book on Netsuke which I has also forgotten about. Now I remember where I got them etc but 2 hours ago I didnt even know they were there.
Likewise between US trips/auctions etc I usually cant help looking anywhere a book might turn up. I've had a recent spate of people calling me up with books to sell and there has been some really nice stuff amongst it.
Basically buying and unpacking - good ; typing, packing and paying freight/ebay fees - bad, sums up the 'job'.

Re: Who is ebaying today?

Well only a so-so result on the Georgette Heyer books - $71, but a bit better than expected result on the Patricia Wentworth - $62.85. Plus the Hardy's that I have up are on a nice price, considering they are mainly ex-library.

I'm off to the markets tomorrow morning with the Misses, providing it's not raining. Has been raining here for nearly 2ยฝ weeks - every day, drizzly rain. Hopeless for getting any gardening or mowing done.

Re: Who is ebaying today?

Far out!!! I bet the seller got a nice surprise. I probably would have had a lowish BIN price on it, lol. Now I'll be looking amongst all the microwave cookbooks in the oppies. :^O
