Who is ebaying today?

I thought I'd get this thread up again.:-)

I've had enough excitement here for one day and am off to find my zzz's.

Good thing the weekend is coming up so we can play with all this new stuff.

Judy, my view is... until they start teaching kids to read in school from ebooks, printed books will always be popular.

My girls have enough "screen time" with other things (TV, DS, Computer) without reading from a screen as well.

Re: Who is ebaying today?

Hi All,

For those who thought I had dropped off the face of the earth, well I had almost.

We have moved to New Delhi, India and the stress of moving with only 4 months notice didn't give me room for much else!

We have been here just under 2 weeks and it has been an interesting experience to say the least. Needless to say I think our 3 years may end up dragging. But as long as we can get a decent amount of travel in while we are here then that will make up for the 'interesting' issues we are coming across.

New books are incredibly cheap here, second hand ones work out to be about the same. I will have to take a photo of my local bookshop, it's tiny and stacked really really high. The upstairs part is the stationary section, and the stairs are tiny and ricketty. There are 2 bookshops side by side in the local 'market' and they are quite forward and pushy in trying to get your business. I've only ventured into one so far (bought something from them so didn't want to rub it in the other shops nose).

We are settling in OK, but there is so much to learn about the lay of the land.

Re: Who is ebaying today?

You are going to lose your "Guess the End Price" Crown, though.

I had a shot at foreign culture when I was 6-8 and all I got from it was a Pommy accent. Soon lost.

Re: Who is ebaying today?

Hi Everyone,

Neva: that sounds so exciting and daunting all wrapped up into one. I think you will find your feet and the time won't drag. It often feels that way at the start of something. I spent 10 days in an Aboriginal Community in the Kimberly last January and the remoteness took a couple of days to adjust to and then it flew.

I have just started listing again after some time off. Life has been hectic. Picked up some SVH/ SVU's the other day so am listing those as they are good bread and butter.

Hopefully. I have only had a few on as most of my stock had sold, but I get a sale every once and a while even with only a few. So I am going to see how they go. Good bread and butter.
