Checkout will not let me use Paypal. After entering my details in the PayPal pop-up box, the circle keeps going around like it is in an endless programming loop. Tried on 2 machines after clearing cache of browsers.. still the same problem. I notice that this has happened before according to the Community Board Tech Issues. What was the solution?

Try this, may be it is your computer and not eBay, If NBN or ADSL turn off the computer and the router at the wall. Reboot the whole system. Run your anti-virus, such as McAfee, or Windows Defender, and do a full scan. Then clear all cookies, history and cached data.
Then turn off power for the computer and router and NBN equipment at the wall again.
After 5 minutes reboot. Then log on. Do not use Internet explorer switch to Microsoft EDGE that comes with Windows 10.

Thanks for the suggestion... but not a solution. Any other thoughts? Never encountered this problem before.

Although , clear all cookies, history and cached data. most times will fix the loop problem, turning off the router for 5 minutes is the most import step, then re boot.

Worked OK on Internet Explorer... Have flagged it with eBay and they said they would check compatibility issues, although since it worked when buying stuff yesterday, it seems strange... but computers (or more precisely their human programmers) have minds of their own. Thanks for your help though. It was much appreciated.

IE has not been supported by ebay for some time now.
Change to Firefox, Chrome or Edge if you have Windows 10.

It can also happen during busy parts of the day where it doesn't seem to be able to connect due to line
speed issues and trying later in the day can resolve it at times.
Have you done a speed test to see whether that could be an issue?
Other times the dongle just seems to have problems finding the network (this often occurs when my BIL uses
his laptop with the dongle).

I can log into PayPal's home page.
I can log into PayPal in two separate online businesses.
But I CAN NOT log into PayPal on eBay!
It's very frustrating as I want to make a purchase.
