Can't edit uploaded tracking numbers if a number is accidently uploaded incorrectly.

When ebay first introduced the feature of adding tracking numbers many years ago, for the first 18 months of the feature being live it was not possible to edit an incorrectly added tracking number. To make matters worse if the number uploaded was actually a valid number intended for someone else then it also was not possible to add the correct number to the other transaction either as the system would not accept it since it had already been used.

This was despite the fact that it was possible to bring up the tracking, change the number in the field and then click save.

What actually happened was the original number would not change and the edited number would be added as a second tracking number complete with a remove button next to it so it could be edited or removed. The original number was locked from changes or removal.

18 months of multiple seller complaints and reports to customer service eventually got the problem fixed and one day without any fanfare or announcement, it was possible to edit the original number or even remove it altogether making the item show as unposted.

In view of the fact that humans are prone to making simple mistakes from time to time that fixed behaviour made much more sense.

It certainly gave the buyers a much better experience as removing an incorrect tracking number reduces confusion and being able to add the correct number only definitely is a plus.

Fast forward to today and it appears that when the tracking number adding page changed from the old My eBay view to the "new & improved" seller hub view, this old glitch has reared it's ugly head again.

Add to that a two hour heated phone conversation with ebay customer support to report the issue which was escalated twice to more knowlegable "Concierges" only to be told parrot fashion that it is the way it is intended to work by design and it is a better experience for the buyer. No suggestions offered on how to add the correct tracking number to a second transaction that was needed to provide that customer with a good experience and also prevent a penalty from ebay for posting late.

**bleep**. Here we go again ...........
