Ebay is providing my email to 3rd party sellers.

I use a unique email address for every single site I'm on (through my own server) and I do not have a 'catch all' email address.

I am constantly spammed by people sending to my eBay email address - the one that only exists at ebay. I've changed it twice with the same result. YOUR  DETAILS ARE NOT SECURE ON EBAY!

I've reported this to the privacy commissioner and they tell me they have thousands of similar complaints!

And what about the sellers that you buy from....they get your email address.   If you use that address for paypal also then anyone who you pay using paypal will have access to that email address.

Why is it any different to giving anyone your address and/or phone number.

If you are going to be on the internet you can't hide.....you will be found if someone really wants to find you.

  1. Click My eBay at the top of the eBay page
  2. Click the Account tab.
  3. Click "Communication Preferences" (link is on the left side of page).
  4. Scroll to the bottom to the section labeled "Promotions and Surveys". ...
  5. Un-click all or whichever ones you want.
  6. Click "Save" and you're done.

Whilst you are in Communication Preferences you can also check and change any other notifications that

you don't want,
