Why has the option "Price gouging" been removed from the reporting system?
it use to be
Prohibited and restricted items > Price gouging > Medical supplies
started reporting listings like over a week ago and today Prohibited and restricted items > Price gouging > Medical supplies is no longer an option. contacted a ebay rep and they didnt even know it exiested let alone why it was removed, then they proced to tell me to choose another catagory then add more details........ adding more details [manually typing] hasnt been an option since I joined as far as I remember.
the image below isnt mine but it shows price gouging as an option.

Well eBay could not tell you so
As a guess (and keep in mind the only people here are buyers and sellers like you) is because it was abused by people falsely reporting genuine listings as being price gouging (ie troublemakers abusing the function)
Other than that, ask an eBay supervisor rather than a bottom rung cs who does'nt know because they don't have anything on their script/screen to tell them what to say

Would've been removed due to everything being reported instead of just the price gouging ones and so
genuine sellers would've beeen affected due to numpties reporting them for no reason.
They can always be reported via the Listing practices > Fraudulent listing activities > You suspect that a listing is
fraudulent
It will see them removed as well.

It would make life a lot simpler for Ebay if they asked for a brief reason an item was being reported. Next time I'm engaging an Ebay operative in an online chat I'll suggest they add that option.
It used to be an option on some of the drop down menu's and it made it easier to let them know exactly why
they were being reported.but it was removed over 4 years ago.
