The email address listed in my account is incorrect, yet I still get emails through another email account. However the settings area won't let me change my address to one that eBay is currently sending to ??? It says it is already in use??

You must have that email allocated to a different account. You can only use one email per account. Duplicates are not permitted.
If all else fails, open a new email account for this account. Gmail is the best, I have found, and it's free.
