So i sold this item and the tracking is attached to the item . 

a dispute was opened 5002227472

But there is a glitch , via ebay if you look at the tracking it says only shipped ... yet the carrier says its delivered

then there was no option to relay the information . 

the case was closed with the buyer being refunded and also charging me a dispute fee . 

this is a bit stupid ??!!

Did you upload the tracking information INTO the dispute?

 

You offer worldwide shipping - some countries are really not worth it for the sake of a sale.

Yup I uploaded the tracking..  but there was no comments section to write a blurb that the Australia post tracking says it's delivered. But on the ebay portal it says it's still in transit. So the info is not linking properly.

Unfortunately the eBay tracking has glitches - it is almost always updated later (after the official tracking), and sometimes it is never updated. I have some items that still don't show as delivered on eBay, even if they were delivered a long time ago and the official tracking does show them as delivered...

Can't you add a comment to a dispute? Usually buyers can at least.

How frustrating!

For future purchases I would add extra days in your handling time. Mine is a minimum of 5 and on my other account it is 10 days handling. This will give a better buffer, especially since there are lots of hold ups in the supply chain.

 

Perhaps get onto Chat with customer service on Monday and explain. If you can take a screen shot showing delivery, that would help (I think you can upload into the chat, but not 100% sure). Ebay have made a big deal about supporting sellers during Covid, especially if they send with tracking within their handling time. Doesn't seem like they are following their own guidelines.

I have had similar issues as a seller, where items I sent untracked are marked by Ebay as delivered and yet they cannot possibly have arrived in the timeframe.

Buyer posts a refund claim. I explain to buyer item will take a bit longer to arrive and it's still within the delivery timeframe. Buyer is great about it and is willing to wait.

Next day at 2 am , Ebay jumps in saying buyer has asked for a refund. Within 15 minutes, Ebay refunds the buyer and closes the case saying I did not respond. This happened in the middle of the night while I was sleeping!

Buyer is upset as she categorically denies asking Ebay for the refund. I am upset, as yet again, Ebay interferes with ongoing discussions between me and my buyers and gives me a bad rating to boot.

 

Trying to talk to Ebay help is a complete waste of time. Last time something similar happened, I heard 'I am sorry for your problem, blah, blah' seven times from seven different 'specialised' operators and the issue was never resolved. Buyer got their refund and the product as well, when it arrived.

It appears to be starting again. I'm so brassed off, I am thinking of closing up shop after almost 20 years on here.

So, all I want to say is GOOD LUCK with it

Since you had no tracking, you were always going to lose the dispute the minute the buyer opened it. I doubt the buyer was actually "upset", as they were planning to do this all along.

- Trying to negotiate a refund with Ebay
- Go to court (if the price of the item is more than the cost of a lawyer)
- Do not send to Nigeria anymore
- Break up with Ebay

Go to the financial ombudsman. I've done it a few times for the same reason as you and have got my money back each time. Just present them with the facts and make sure to take screenshots of the tracking results on both eBay and the Aus Post site. One thing eBay/PayPal like to do is drag these cases out as long as possible so that the tracking disappears from the Aus Post website and they can deny it was delivered. They send you a nasty letter in the mail after losing the case telling you that you have not complied with their terms and conditions and will be suspended if it happens again. Luckily Australian law always trumps their terms and conditions.
