What happens when you try? How long has it been happening? have you done the usual clear cache/cookies etc?
What browser are you using?
Have you sent or been sent a message giving contact details without making a purchase?

I was using the full site.
I use google chrome, but I also tested on firefox - both the same.
I am forever clearing browsing history & cache/cookies.
I was trying to contact the seller, before the item was received, but after I had bought it. It came up as error, page can't be reached. I went onto the live chat & they sent me a link to contact the seller. This I did & the seller provided a response. So, I atttained my objective.
I then noticed all my items on the purchase history up as active buying/awaiting delivery were coming up with the same error message when I tried to access the option as a test. So, it appears to be across the board.
The live chat person didn't know why this was happening and wasn't too interested in finding out. it is not easy to contat ebay about a specific problem.

have you tried on other devices? (mobile another pc, tablet.)
could need a IT here or not
If its PC
then
is your security software up to date
try by turn off web browser extensions they can cause havoc especially if they modify a website. (eg. adblocker)
other things could look for would be malware.
