Hi, has anybody had a email from Paypal saying they have suspect usage of their account and to login to change password, however when I go to the Paypal page it is totally different, does anyone know if they have changed the layout of the site?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Paypal will never send you a message like this. It's a phishing scam. Report the email to Paypal.

I hope you didn't access Paypal via a link in the email you received as it may well have been an attempt at phishing. If you did, I suggest that you log in to Paypal and change your password immediately. You should always enter Paypal's IP address into the browser manually, and genuine Paypal emails will always tell you to do that anyway.
Having said that however, I have noticed that Paypal have indeed altered their home page at least twice in the last few months so that in itself is not an indication that you may have logged into a spoof site. Just continue to log in manually and you won't have any problems.
Just to make sure, I also suggest that you forward said email to spoof@paypal.com.au and they'll tell you if it was genuine or not (although I very much suspect it wasn't).

Thanks for the replies, very much appreciated. I did manually log onto Paypay but I thought the site looked unusual (maybe I was just a bit paranoid). I will do as suggested and send off the spoof email to paypal and then take it from there. Thanks again 🙂

What is a phishing email?
You may have received an email falsely claiming to be from PayPal or
another known entity. This is called "phishing" because the sender is
"fishing" for your personal data. The goal is to trick you into clicking
through to a fake or "spoofed" website, or into calling a bogus customer
service number where they can collect and steal your sensitive personal
or financial information.
We will carefully review the content reported to us to certify that the
content is legitimate. We will contact you if we need any additional
information for investigating the matter. Please take note to the
security tips provided above as they may help to answer any questions
that you may have about the email you are reporting to us.
