Yes, I am confused about the cost of an ebay store. Will it remain at the $24.95 when the Basic store is eliminated? This is not clear at all in the news bulletin.

The only thing that will affect us book sellers is a $5.00 increase in fees, nothing else, we upgrade to a new featured store in May or later thats all.
All the info is right here, it just needs to be read before posting.

For that $5.00 increase we get lots of extras for free....

Why is ebay rewarding those that don't communicate with customers and penalising those that do?
Ebay confirmation messages are notoriously amiss when it comes to the buyers receiving them.
What happens to the 5 stars when a seller gets a message from the buyer asking if the purchase has been sent, or as quite often happens, Item not received?
Selling is a two way street and Ebay have been harping on at us for ages to improve our communications with buyers.
We do that and now you penalize us for it.

Also, Ebay need to revise the wording for 'Same Day Dispatch'.
It is reading as 'Same Day Delivery'.
With that wording, Buyers will be expecting their purchases to arrive the same day as they buy.
(and please don't say that the buyers will undersand that. I have already had buyers complain because they didn't get their items in 2 days, because I have 2 day shipping dispatch)
Maybe use "Same Day Posting'.

I agree with you on this, Jen#2 (& with regards to ebay's "despatch/posting debacle).
We should be free to communicate with our customers (ebay should never have stuck their noses into our businesses in the first place) without fear of being "naughty" as their "improvements" seem to suggest.

I have just made some calculations and I am hoping that I am wrong, or I will have to start looking for a job.
I have a featured store and whilst the subscription fee is reduced and the insertion fees have reduced, am I now paying a flat rate of 7% as a final value fee ????
Most of my items sell for $250 - $450. If I look at one item that I sell for $284 the old fee was $13.91. Now I am expected to pay $284 x 7% = $19.88.
That is an increase of $5.97 - I sell upto 100 items per month and many are more expensive than this which will make the increase even more.
Please, someone tell me that I am not calculating this correctly.

Please, someone tell me that I am not calculating this correctly.
You are calculating this correctly.... A couple of examples are below. These new changes will affect the higher $ sellers of items above $75.00
CURRENT soon to be the OLD FVF's for a featured store
7.40% of the initial AU$75.00 plus 4.00% of the initial AU$75.01 - AU$1,000.00, plus 3.00% of the remaining closing price (AU$1,000.01 - closing price
The following would apply for a $500.00 sale under the old fees
First $75.00 @ 7.40% = $5.55 $425.00 @ 4% = $17.00
total = $22.55
New Fees @ 7% flat = $35.00
Old fees for a $1000.00 sale = $42.55
New flat 7% fee will be $70.00

Please explain to me how sellers like me, who have a mail service only 2 days a week Tuesday and Friday are expected to send mail each day....
I have buyers that come in on Tuesday afternoon and purchase items, pay straight away with Paypal, but because my mail is picked up by a contractor at about 9am I am then unable to post their items untill Friday....
This means for a lot of my buyers have to wait from Tuesday to Friday for me to post, or From Friday Morning 9am to Tuesday Morning 9am for me to be able to post. what allowances ar emade for sellers in the same situation as me...

From what I read in the PDF Banjo, you will have to put in the "Business Practices', why you can't post out within 3 days.
It isn't in there yet, but anyone who can't post within 3 business days , has to explain why.

Check NOsales.com.au and compair there fees to Ebays. I think a lot of people will have to find a job and in the end ebay will be worse of in the end..
Happy deleating Ebay for the 3rd time
Yes i compared ebay's 30 free listings a month and worked out i can get bids on 30 items a month or list 300 items on your favourite site for free for a month and get one or two bids if its a good month.
You do the maths
