SILVER PLATED FAKES..

Why can people sell .999 silver plated cions on EBay ,that are exactly  the same as the Perth mint solid .999 silver coin Even the same size with nothing on the coin that says copy ,or plated,The seller says plated but the coins are identical ,ready to be palmed off to the next poor buyer..

SILVER PLATED FAKES..

eBay, all the fun of the fair.

There are honourable sellers, total rouges and all shades in between.

Do not buy silver, gold, or key date Australian pre-decimal coins, etc from amateurs.

One person I exposed a few years back had sold over 50 FAKE 1938 crowns via eBay and some fake 1934-35 Melb Centenary florins as well. Not one of the people he had sold the coins to realised they were fake.

Buy from reputable dealers with a long standing prescence in the market.

They are out there and some of them sell via eBay.

You may pay a bit more (dealers have to pay GST) but at least you usually get what you pay for.
