Search issue

Try using the search word bulk or wholesale - it use to always bring up a heap of items - now it shows nothing.

Anyone have an idea why?

A glitch?

Or the need to use an item type now? As the results for wholesale or bulk alone might be too high a number for the latest eBay update?

If you search "wholesale bulk elk" or "wholesale bulk jewellery" it lists the items fine 🙂

Or "wholesale elk" or "bulk elk"


If you are wondering why elk, It was the first uncommon thing I could think of to look for, alongside a common item, jewellery.


So the search words wholesale and bulk work fine, but not on their own.

I doubt it - I can search for 'car' and get 1,289,532 results.
There would be a lot less results for bulk or wholesale so why would they not show up?

Bulk or wholesale everything might well top that. Considering they even have bulk elks...think of everything that could be out there.

You asked for ideas...it is an idea.

Call eBay if you want to ask them why exactly

Sorry - no offence intended - but a search of bulk elks in .com.au comes up with 9 results, internationally it comes up with 49 results - hardly a comparison.

I expect a search using the word bulk to show up a lot of results but nowhere near the number a search using the car shows up.

This is a search that worked a few days ago (bulk)  - usualy resulting in less than a few thousand results.

Elks are not the thing. Think of Everything that exists and how many listings there could be. In total. Being the point.

Good luck getting IT at eBay to sort it out for you, just let them know there is an issue 🙂

Thanks but I can't be bothered dealing with Ebay IT.

It will end up being one of the many other glitches that show up for no reason, then go away when Ebay realise someone has stuffed it up.
