what happened to the ebay search layout????????????

what sort of garbled mess did i just witness when i just tried to search different catagories for items.

i just clicked on books than non fiction and a randon square grid of pictured items appeared, WTH.

with no way to arrange them in ending soon or lowest price, its like just a jumbled useless mess.

i simply just had to click see all search results just to narrow down the catagories into specifics.

in video games for example i click on games and random grid of games for sale appear with no order based on consoles or other specifics. is this a joke????? even the subcatagories are pretty useless, you still need to choose a sub sub catagories but there is no option you simply have to select see all again. with no options on the left side to allow this narrowing down into what im looking for specifically.

does ebay think this has any use to anyone, how!!!!!. unless you own every console, no one wants to see a list of games from all of them, they want to narrow it down to a specific console. this is just a bunch of random useless junk that hurts my eyes.

its like the illusion of looking cool without any functionality, now i have to waste my time and take another step and press view search results every time, this is stupid?!?!?!?!?!?!?

at least if u want to have a grid of images of items, have options on the left side to narrow down specifics, like buy now, country of items just like in normal search results.

You need to look at your own computer, not blame ebay.  There is nothing different on my computer.

I think I would be narrowing my search down a bit....Books, non fiction brings up 4.5million results.  Even putting them in Ending Soonest or whatever order you want, it is a bit daunting.

Tell me exactly what u see when u select shop by category up the top then select VIDEO GAMES AND CONSOLES, THEN SELECT GAMES.

is it me or when u do this there is a whole list of items in a grid cube pattern, with pics of the games and when you scroll down more pictures of items load?????

thats what im talking about, it just a random list of pictured items not in any order and no way to arrange the items.

the only way is to select "Prefer search results? See all games" which makes the whole grid list of items useless and pointless.

why? is it for ipad users on touch screens, makes it easier to select item but not easy to find item u are after.

I have the same thing happening to me sometimes. If you click on one of the listings (pictures) and then up the top of the listing the catagorie that it is listed in is displayed, click on that and it should give you the normal format.

When I do the search that you are asking about I get in excess of 208,000 listings coming up in Best Match, which I can then change to Price + postage, lowest first or whatever search parameters that I want to use.

There is nothing different coming up in searches that give me any cause for concern.

so you dont get a whole lot of items in square boxes going down the page and as you scroll down more pictures load of items?????

Don't get all upset with me....it is not my fault.

I am on a laptop, but also checked my desktop.  I see what you are talking about in that link but I can not replicate it at all on either computer.

If you can not get rid of it surely it is not so difficult to do one extra click to get the usual list of results.

They should have a button to change between grid and list. There is also a little message in the right bottom corner that says "How can we make this page better for you" which basically explains it. They have also removed all the search functions when the items are displayed as a grid, I assume that the listings are comming up as 'best match' also.

I can't find a one click fix to it, I do miss things right in front of me though....Like I said before if you go into a listing and then click the catagorie from a listing it will display normally.

Also maybe upgraid your browser if your using an old version.

Yeah I get this problem too sometimes. annoying. I find I have to change the search terms to 'break out' of the mode. Annoying. (fwiw: happens with IE, FF, Chrome.)
