Whether you're buying or selling on eBay, you want items to

be delivered quickly and easily. However, an incorrect or

incomplete delivery address can lead to delays.

We're taking steps to ensure accurate delivery details for eBay orders:

  1. We now have address validation at checkout and in My eBay. If you add a new address or edit an existing address, you'll be provided with a high-quality recommendation based on Australia Post street records.
  2. We recently updated our False or missing contact information policy to add that if eBay identifies a postal address on an eBay account that is entered incorrectly, is incomplete or doesn't follow the format used by carriers such as Australia Post, we may make minor adjustments to help ensure a smooth delivery.

As an eBay buyer

You may see our address recommendations when purchasing on eBay (see example on the right). In addition, over the coming weeks, if a minor error has been found in your delivery address, we'll correct suburb and state information automatically on your behalf. We will not change any other registration details.

You don't need to do anything, although you can check and update your addresses on eBay at any time.

As an eBay seller

By providing more accurate delivery details for eBay orders and returns, we hope to reduce the strain of postage issues and buyer claims caused by incorrect delivery information.

To avoid issues with the delivery of returns, make sure you have an accurate return address specified on your account. If you haven't, this will default to your registered address.
