Why does ebay quote a delivery date on items purchased, especially from China and nothing turns up?

Things are going from bad to worse with purchases out of China. Nothing turns up on time with China Post.There should be an option to pay extra freight on the sale of items, In the hope they can turn in reasonable period of time.
