I sold a couple of items on ebay, and the person that bought them didn't pay. why do I still have to pay fees on them?

I sold a couple of items and the person that bought them, didn't pay or pick up the item. How do I get the item off my page? And why do I still have to pay fees on them as it has been calculated on my invoice?
