I posted the item on the strength of the paypal email to say that the amount was paid. 5 1/2 days later money not in account. What do I do?

This is my first sale and maybe I've missed a step. Should I mark as paid just on the strength of the paypal email to say that it's paid for, or should I wait until the amount turns up in my paypal account?
