I have my debit card setup on ebay with paypal, it's worked so far but when i buy something, it tells me to add a debit/credit to my paypal?

okay, so far I have brought things fine with my debit card that has been verified with paypal, now all of a sudden when I try purchase anything, ebay message comes up saying, "please add a debit or credit card to your account to continue"
