hi - can anyone tell me the best government or consumer body to lodge a complaint against ebay?
Solved! Go to Solution.

so, now an 'intangible' too.....this whole thing is sounding fraught.....no wonder eBay has held your funds...
can you get a refund via ticket seller?
I don't know what to say, sorry
Good luck

don't be sorry - you haven't done anything

I am with you , I stop buying from ebay and opt for other reliable platform.
It is frustrating when you see some loyal ebay fans (with more than 5000 posts, some even have 10000+) who frequently defend the platform against any negative feedback towards ebay. Just hope these members can offer more constructive solutions instead of just asking people to read the T&C, bla bla bla, hope they can be nicer and be a better human being.

Do you have a constructive solution?
,,,,and by the way, OP is the seller (not the buyer)

Good grief.

You find it frustrating that other members provide factual information
I understand why you feel that way
The person you are replying to is the seller
Yet your constructive advice for them is to buy form somewhere else

I'm confused, so you are saying that T&C's shouldnt be followed. Oh and overlook the fact that they are also breaching government laws, but I guess you are frustrated with that as well.
Maybe they should try FB market place, where there are no T&C's, but its also a bit like the wild west out there. T&C's are their to protect sellers and buyers, but in this case hopefully the buyer is protected.

the Opening Post gave scant details about the problem, and the OP's second post started with "I won't go into the details but just about how they can freeze my payments".
Details were then drip-fed, or discovered by others, over many posts.
However, had the Opening Post been:
I recently sold 3 AFL Grand Final tickets for $5,900. Now eBay are holding onto my funds. Who do I contact to lodge a complaint about this action by eBay?
... a responsible reply would be one that points the OP to the UA, T&Cs or eBay Policy to show that it is normal practice to hold funds on high value items, especially time-sensitive items.
The only problem I see is that relevant details were not forthcoming. But what would I know, I've only regularly posted on these boards to help others for about 15 years.

After reading this bit of information -
Under the Major Events Act 2009 (VIC)it is illegal to on-sell or advertise for resaleAFL Grand Finaltickets at a premium or as part of a package, unless the seller is authorised in writing by the AFL. We suggest calling Ticketek to discuss a refund.

I would suggest refunding your buyer immediately (and apologising) and calling Ticketek to get a refund.
Only way to avoid tears all round IMO
But do it NOW!

Too late to edit....
Cancel the sale (and apologise).
Ebay will refund from the held funds.
