Deleted lists

It's been a few years since I've used ebay regularly, but what irritates me most is the 'delete List' tab being so close to another tab. it seems if you delete a list by mistake, well, that's it. Is there a way to change ebay's website tabs to stop this?

Re: Deleted lists

It might be possible to use an ad blocker's element hiding tool to block that button entirely.

It might be worth it to create a new list to experiment with so one does not inadvertently delete any items while trying to block that button.

I will try that and follow up if I have any success.

Try adding this line to your custom ad blocking rules:

www.ebay.com.au##.btn--secondary.btn--destructive.btn.m-middle-header__btn

I understand completely. I've done it too, and it's so frustrating. Once upon a time they went into a folder and could be retrieved, but no more ๐Ÿ˜ž

Re: Deleted lists

Thanks, it does seem to work, but not for all the various lists I have. It just seems to be a badly designed interface, where the 'delete list' tab is directly below the 'drop-down' menu where I access those lists. It's very unfortunate for the sellers here whose items I had in those lists. In the last 4 weeks I've accidentally deleted many hours work finding gifts and to see it all go is frustrating.

Re: Deleted lists

Hi everyone and please accept my apologies for not commenting recently. Real life happened. I've tried a few different things and none have worked. Using an adblocker to deactivate the 'delete' button doesn't work.

It's just so frustrating when you create lists/folders with 200 items in each list from various sellers around the World, then accidently deleting an entire list/folder (200 items) due to the website layout. I really feel sorry for those sellers I had in the 2 separate 'Wish' lists with 400 items in total, all obliterated by a poorly designed website. I've managed to delete 3 other lists/folders as well such as French glass, clothes, lights, chairs, rugs etc due to that 'delete' button.

The other change I detest is when you click on an item and then click on the 'sellers other items' on the right. Instead of seeing *all* of their items I have to navigate my way past their 'shop' till I hit the bottom of the screen and select 'see all items' button. That is a major pain. But I know why it's designed that way.

It's just a huge waste of my time and energy. I just hate this new look to the website. It's so, so easy to delete a list when in actuality you just wanted to delete one item. Admittedly, I haven't visited ebay in over a year. Temu, Alibaba, Amazon, etsy and even wish.com are better value. It's one of the reasons I left ebay.

The other gripe I have is when I purchase from the USA. Most sellers will only use ebays 'Global Shipping program-Paterson-Wood or Price-Pittney or something. My item usually takes a grand tour of most US states before it eventually leaves via Guam, Wake Island, Honolulu and then back to Kentucky for some reason. All US packages always visit Kentucky. I know why they use it but I no longer buy from the US. ebay seems to have a monopoly on freight/postal charges there. Every where else the postal charges are reasonable. Not with the US. They won't even use UPS or FedEx.

So, after over 20 years with ebay, I think I may just fade away. Thank you everyone for your help. And putting up with a grumpy goblin!

Re: Deleted lists

Just an update. I've now deleted by accident another 'wish' list. Gone again accidentally. It's definitely a sign to leave!
