Ebay call back.

Just got a call from eBay call back and the lady from eBay told me that may account had been hacked. I asked if it was like what happened to Optus  and she said yes!

I asked if I should the Commonwealth police and she said yes!

Not happy eBay!!!!!!

If the “lady” knew your details, you gave information.

You may not have realised it.

Giving information includes little “mm-hmm” noises confirming name, date of birth, username, etc.

Information leaks out of people. It is a rare person who doesn’t give away anything to a scammer who has been trained to extract confirmation or extra information.

See how many complaints there are about it being a scammer pretending to be eBay

This is not how the real eBay do things for a start

You are incredibly gullible.

It was NOT ebay calling you. Scammers have lots of our details through all sorts of various means.

My mother thought her "bank was calling her a few months ago as they had all her details. It was a scam and she lost $60,000.

If Ebay had been hacked, it would be everywhere in the news as well.

I really hope you gave zero information to the person. Otherwise you are at serious risk of identity theft.

Im curious…… and I absolutely mean no disrespect by the following statement….. BUT….

We have some high volume sellers frequent these boards and often. No one else has come forward and said that eBay has called them and said they were hacked.

Why is it, do you think, that you seem to be the only one out of 10,000 +++ sellers here? 😉
