i sent the seller a message asking for a contact phnoe number, i guess ebay wont let that message the through tot the seller or their response will be blocked if the seller tries to reply?

@gemmababe2001,
It's worse than that. eBay can - and do - restricting sellers (and preventing them from being able to reply to any enquiries for at least a week) as punishment for a breach in policy if buyers contact them requesting contact details. eBay will assume that the attempt to obtain such information is an attempt to buy or sell outside of eBay, and there have been multiple instances where the seller - who didn't initiate or respond to such contact - was the one sanctioned. Quoting:
❝Activity that doesn't follow eBay policy could result in a range of actions including for example: administratively ending or cancelling listings, hiding or demoting all listings from search results, blocking some or all of your messages/communication with other members, lowering seller rating, buying or selling restrictions, and account suspension.❞
See eBay's Contact information sharing policy, eBay's Member-to-member contact policy, and eBay's Offering to buy or sell outside of eBay policy.

doesnt surprise me, ebay have become a law unto their own, making it unfair for both buyers and sellers alike, so sad that ebay has become this way

These days it seems like ebay will do everything for sellers, including covering up bad business practices by altering/removing legitimate feedback, taking no action against sellers blatantly falsely advertising stuff, making it impossible to actually get the sellers contact info to hold them accountable and just generally fobbing off everyone that is not making them money.
This is why I use AliEXPRESS and dhgate and temu and ANY OTHER BLOODY WEBSITE i can these days, because ebay has gone to and think that consumer laws dont apply to them! At least I know where I stand with those other websites (they dont give a about me either, but at least they dont pretend to)
Do BETTER ebay or you will loose more and more market share over the coming years to competition that are not completely !

You had to resurrect a 5 year old post to have your rant, which is unrelated,

I can see why Temu is so attractive - NOT.
They steal Australian designers’ and artists’ designs and produce them in poorer quality for dirt cheap prices without acknowledgement or payment. I’d call that as bleepy as bleepity bleep. Do you not?
They produce the items with dangerous materials simply because the cost is as cheap as possible. Carcinogenic dyes, fabrics, plastics, prints, etc. I’d call that bleeped to the max. Wouldn’t you?
They impart your information to the Chinese government - your browsing, your purchases, what those purchases tell them about you and your family and social network and social media and ID (name, address, phone, type of payment, etc ) and from there they can piece together your politics and beliefs and what sort of online arguments and social media material might sway you and so on. Not bleepy? I consider it bleep bleep bleep bleep.
NB: All bleeps in this post were posted as just that - the letters B L double E P. They are not disguised profanity. 👼😇
No… I won’t be buying from Temu or AliEXPRESS or dhgate. I use eBay as and when I wish to, in the knowledge that I can choose reputable sellers - authorised Australian businesses, or European or American businesses etc - from whom I can buy with confidence.

Maybe you should read seller's feedback BEFORE you buy from them, the neg you left was for a Chinese seller with disgusting feedback.................
