My son has sold an item on EBay (5 days back) and the buyer said he made the payment immediately via PayPal. The payment has not been received. Please advise what is the best way to deal with this situation.
Many Thanks

Did your son upgrade his Paypal account to a preminum/premier account so that he can receive money through an eBay sale ?
Or is the payment going through as an echeque which will show as pending in his Paypal account ?
What did he sell ? Is it a scam-prone item ?

Be careful because there are scammers that will make the claim that they have paid just to get free items. Check your Paypal account to see if there is any mention of the payment (do not trust any emails that claim to be from Paypal saying it is paid) only go by what is showing in your Paypal account. If your son is a new seller, then Paypal holds the funds for 21 days and it is ok to post the item if this is the case. If you look at your "sold items" page, it will tell you if payment is received and tell you to post the item. See the picture here as an example.
If you need help finding your selling page, go to the top right of the main eBay page Select the arrow next to "my Ebay" when the menu opens select "selling/sold"
Ebay always gives a message here to POST THE ITEM once payment is received, and if it is on hold by Paypal because you are new, you HAVE been paid and will need to post the item.

Thanks for your reply. My son wasn’t aware of having to upgrade his PayPal account. Nothing showing as pending in his PayPal account would that be because he hasn’t made it a premium/premier account ?
Go to the link below and get him to follow all the steps in there, some or most of which he has probably already done :-
