Payment holds for sellers

Hi all. To say im upset and disappointed is an understatement. I iv sold over 25 items in less than 2 weeks totalling just over $6 000 to which all of it is on hold. Im am ebay plus member I have 100% feedback I have no disputes or complaints and im nearly a top rated seller. Iv asked Ebay 4 times when these holds will end and each time I get a completely different answer. Example as per the photo. I sold 2 identical items for 2 different buyers. They both paid the same day and one item says payment on hold because im a new seller the other because they want a smooth transaction. Makes no sence at all. Iv sent expensive items with no money in my bank and get told I have to wait 2 weeks for payment. But ohh if the buyer doesn't get the item within the delivery timefrafe ebay would be quick to send a refund out of thr sellers held funds?? As a seller im not a bank im not a 14-30 day credit account. So why does a seller lose out. If you fill your car up with petrol you can't say we'll ill see how the petrol runs and if no dramas in a couple of weeks I'll pay you for the full tank.. hell no you would have cops at your door within the day so what makes Ebay so special thst they get to hold money and earn interest on it. Im over it.

Re: Payment holds for sellers

As a new seller, your funds will be on hold for 21 days.  All relevant info was available to you prior to signing on to managed payments, and before listing anything for sale.

Note,  holds on funds have applied to new sellers for about 5 yrs now.

Re: Payment holds for sellers

As mentioned, payment holds are nothing new on the platform. Did you also read the information related to having signed up with the new Managed Payments system (since July 2020)? If so, you would be aware that there is a hold on funds for anywhere between 21-30 days anyway for new and infrequent sellers.

You actually need to establish yourself within the Ebay ecosystem and prove to Ebay and buyers that you are reliable and trustworthy - that you send out items in a timely manner, that you send out exactly what you describe in your listings and that you provide a reliable method of postage for the buyers peace of mind. Your funds on hold are not the buyers problem - they pay, you must send (promptly).

This info was literally all there before you listed your very first item, so why are so so surprised that you have to follow the rules like every other new seller? Do you think they should not apply to you for some reason?

Re: Payment holds for sellers

Yes, as you said so on the other thread you off topic posted on with the same complaint

Where you were advised it is Illegal for eBay to earn interest on on hold funds

As buyers can only be given positive, I am not sure why you believe 100% as a buyer, which means nothing, should get your funds released

The holds you agreed to before you were able to start listing

That apply to everyone new to or returning to selling

That is thirty days for others but somehow you only have to wait two weeks apparently, half the time but still post twice about the unfairness of it all

And holds applied under Paypal

Nothing new, nothing hidden or a secret

So why go ahead with selling if it is such an issue for you
