Re: Seller

What is your question/problem so that other members can try to help you

Is there a problem with the item

The item not arriving
Something else

There are tools and policies  when a buyer has a problem that do not require an unhelpful seller to reply

But we can't give you the right advice with no details of why you need to contact the seller

How long ago did you buy?

(Not eBay here by the way, this is a member to member forum)

Re: Seller

As Sandy said, we are just normal members here, not eBay staff.

If you mean that the seller hasn't posted your item yet, you should first check the seller's handling time. Not all sellers post immediately, and some sellers post but don't mark their items as sent until later.

And if the seller ignores you and the item does not arrive, you can open a case after the last day of the estimated delivery.

Re: Seller

I ordered and received a garden water pump in June, and because of all we had (and not noticing the 30 return) I did not have the need to use it till past the 30 days.                                                                              But when I did found it not to be working so contacted the seller who gave me less than day to record a video and send to them which I did not do in time so the case was closed.                                                                                                             So I contacted Ebay and they got the seller to give me more time to send the video, which I sent on  29/8/22 and have heard nothing even after requesting updates.                                                                                                               This would be so much easier if Ebay could be contacted by email, which I have tried so many times sending reply's to emails they send me.                                                                                                                                                                  But because the case was closed I am going around in circles.

Re: Seller

Way too late for eBay now (The seller would have known that (30 day limit with eBay)

which is why they just messed you around wanting a video rather than tell you up front...perhaps to make themselves look 'helpful'

If you used Paypal, you have 180 days for a dispute,

No idea why eBay would have given you more time re the video (unless they were not aware of the dates involved) they won't do anything so long after the last arrival date

So sending emails is pointless and you cannot re-open the case that has been closed

Did you use PayPal?

Re: Seller

In future - anything ordered - and received - do not wait until you ' need to use it ' - check it out on delivery.

Then stick it in the cupboard until needed.

Re: Seller

Videos are utterly irrelevant and Ebay cannot help you as you did not follow the correct procedures as outlined in the buyers guides.

You have 30 days from receipt to check out an item and open a dispute, if relevant. The fact that you were not aware of this does not matter - it is incumbent on you to know what is going on when you purchase on the platform. The information is there at your fingertips.

Since the item was defective, you could have opened an "item not as described" case.

Seller would then have no choice but to either send a shipping label or postage funds if they wanted the item back, or they would have had to refund you.

Going forward, if you paid via PP, open a dispute right now and do not close it until you have a refund.

Do not let the seller try and persuade you otherwise - in fact you have no obligation to communicate with them at all.

At some point in the next few months Paypal will no longer be an option for buyers, so please be aware of what to do in the case when things go wrong.
