Why did ebay change my profile name to jajan5604.sezqzudxf in 2018. Change back please.

I have been part of the Ebay community since approx. 2004 and for some reason unbeknown to me Ebay decided in 2018 to change my details as shown above.   I have operated under the same email address since 2004 and have contacted Ebay previously about this, with no courtesy of a reply.

I cannot leave feedback for anything I have purchased and quite angry that this has happened.  Check my details please and change  my details to what they were when I first started.

eBay staff do not read this forum, responders here are fellow buyers and sellers and we are not able to do as you request

How did you contact eBay?

If it was via email, emails to eBay only go to a 'bot' system. Rarely is there a reply, often what replies there are have nothing to do with the question

Likewise,staff in the overseas call center work from scripts based on key words

It sounds like you need to use the 'Have Us Call You' option under the help tab at the top of the page for this problem

I honestly have no idea how or why eBay would have done this

If the purchases you made were not under 'this account' that would be why you can't leave feedback

BUT, having said that, if a person changes their username themselves, they would still be able to

If a persons open another/ new eBay account with a different username they would not be able to

This username you are posting on now was registered in 2018 so it is a different account (not just a different name) to the one you opened in 2004

This may be something you need to ask to speak to a supervisor about

Here's a thought.....

Log out and then log in with your 'other' ebay ID , and then type in the password for that account.

If you can't remember your password for that account, then click the box and they will message you a password.

Otherwise you're stuck with this one if you can't remember.

Ebay hasn't changed it.

As suggested just log into your original account.
