how can I get my money back when seller dose not send item that has been paid for

I bought a gold coin for $500 but the seller has not sent it. I have sent 6 messages to her but have not had a response. Lodged a complaint withy ebay and they said they would look into it, and now I get a message that they will get back to me in 48 hours for the last 4 days.

Have you opened an item not recieved dispute? 

Lodging a complaint is not the same thing, eBay are not looking into it (very common story they give people and it's nonsense)

Or they say 'contact the seller' (even if you tell them you have already)

Did you lodge your dispute with the call center or live chat?

But as I've said, if the seller is not responing , you need to open the dispute before it's too late

Was the seller registered here or overseas?

What was their feedback like?

What was their handling time?

How was it being sent (especially if the seller is overseas?)

How do you know the coin has not been sent?  It is not uncommon for sellers to not mark items as sent.

When did you buy it and where is the seller located?

l  bought a pool ladder paid for it and l didnt receive it because he had already sold it l sent him a email no response he owes me $70 l have been trying  to get it back for near a month l paid through PayPal haven't  heard a thing you are suppose to protect buyer but that hasn't happened if it was you . You would like your money back that you had paid out for nothing.

If it were me I would have opened an item not received dispute and if the seller could not prove delivery, I would have gotten my money back

that is the only way buyers have protection

Sending an email to the seller and waiting will not open a dispute, you need to follow the proper procedure or nothing will happen

People here are buyers and sellers like you, no eBay or PayPal staff and we cannot protect buyers if they do not use the tools available to protect themselves

Everyone expects to get their money back if they do not receive their item but you have to make it happen.

You need to open a dispute and follow through the steps to get that refund.

Messaging the seller is useless if they are not going to give you a refund voluntarily.

The responders on the boards are not supposed to protect buyers.....that is up to the buyers themselves taking action to protect themselves when a transaction goes wrong.

Even if the item is not marked as "sent" it could be on the way. Some sellers are very busy and slack at replying to messages. You need to wait until the expected date for delivery has passed, maybe longer, you have 30 days past this date to lodge an "item not received" complaint with eBay.  Go to "help" at the top of the "My eBay" page and follow the prompts to locate the item, and then follow the prompts to open a "not received" case. eBay will assist you from there. You will get your money back.

Are you sure it was from an eBay member as it sounds like it could've been a scam (possibly from a fake eBay

pop up site).

When eBay say they will look into it and then not reply it may be because they haven't found the transaction so

have nothing to look into,

Looks like it's a good time to sell my $200 gold coin (pity I could only list it as pick up only as I wouldn't post,so it's not likely to happen),

The OP does have feedback from a seller of Coin near the amount mentioned, but the est delivery date on that listing is still a week away, so I do not know if thi s post refers to that coin
