I recently ordered articles from two different suppliers. Both stated that stock was ex Sydney.

Supplier  supplied an item that took 11 days to arrive. It shows an Australia Post label but a return address in Suite 32, Level 3, Building 4B, Lord Street, Botany. 2019. I have issues with this item and have contacted the supplier regarding the misleading description of the item. The second order took 14 days to arrive and has a similar Australia Post label and exactly the same return address in Botany. Investigation reveals that both of these suppliers are based outside Australia. I suspect that these items were both posted from China. Perhaps this is a method to avoid GST?? I do not deal with mainland China due to issues in the past. Both of these suppliers listings appear to be legitimate Australian suppliers when they are clearly not.

I did order another item from a legitimate Australian supplier based in Sydney and the item of similar size took only 7 days. Another item ordered from an Australian supplier also based in Sydney, took only two days to arrive.

It would be best to open a case through eBay. I always check where the seller is based, as many show an Australian address on the listing, however when you check the seller profile you will generally see that they are located in China.  I have had issues with some Chinese sellers in the past, but I must admit that there are still some Chinese sellers who are legitimate and will correct any issues that arise.

@bjoconnor2008,

I posted a reply on another thread, touching on "just in time fulfillment" among other things. When you say that ❝The seller is located in Botany❞, you have been taken advantage of by the extraordinarily misleading listing practice that is associated with "just in time fulfillment". The seller isn't in Botany. The listing would have stated that the item location is Botany... and that would almost certainly not have been true. (Read the link for details; especially follow the link to digital*ghost's post where it is explained very clearly.)

If you check a potential seller's feedback profile page, you will see where they are registered.

You gave positive feedback (the last feedback you have left as of today) to a seller who is very clearly in Hong Kong.

Positive feedback ratinggoods as described and posted promptly but took 14 days to arrive

That seller's feedback profile says: ❝Based in Hong Kong, [seller's user ID] has been an eBay member since 29 Nov, 2017. Note also that the seller's feedback percentage is 98.8%... too low for a high-volume seller, but I see that they only have ( 878Purple star icon for feedback score in between 500 to 999)  as their feedback score. Clicking onto their received negatives, I would not feel confident of the quality of the items they sell, and would not buy from them. That is my personal view.

Then there's another seller for whom you gave positive feedback:

Positive feedback ratinggoods as described and posted promptly

That seller has 98.7% feedback percentage (too low for a high volume seller), and ❝Based in China, [seller's user ID] has been an eBay member since 06 Dec, 2017❞. Even though you received the item reasonably quickly, they may not have been in Australia at the time that you made the purchase (as explained in the link in my first paragraph). Feedback score ( 6028Green star icon for feedback score in between 5,000 to 9,999) , and the feedback comments under this seller's negative feedback would inspire me with the desire NOT to buy from them.

There are eBay buyers who feel that misrepresenting item location as Australia when it's actually China / Hong Kong does not earn the seller positive feedback. Some think a neutral is sufficient; some will wield the power of red and give a negative. It's up to you - you may feel that the transaction was a sufficiently positive experience to earn the green.

Yes l to ordered something and when it arrived was nothing like what l ordered now I cannot return it.Wont be shopping online again.

Hi I am also having trouble with this address. I ordered some engineering items from  a company of ebay from a supposedly company  in Australia. I am trying to return the goods as they are inaccurate and are only of any use as scrap metal. I have also been given another  address to return them to in Granville NSW! Post office don't recognise the address!!!.  All I am getting is the  runaround from these people. They do not want to abide by ebay rules and obviously do not want to return my money. The phone number given is in China!!
