Hi there
This guy has sold me a garage door remote a few weeks ago. Unfortunately I needed to return it back to him as it wasn't the right one for my garage door. but he asked me to pay for the postage with a registered mail. It would cost me more than what I bought from him.
Now I gave up the return for that reason and I want to leave a review on this guy but I believe that he's even closed the review on me.
Please solve this issue otherwise I need to resort to the VCAT and whatever I can do against him.
Regards

don't be put off that VCAT action by any comments here.
Stand by your principles, make your case, appeal any adverse findings, take it to the High Court.
Most of all, come back and let us know how it all went.
Let me guess, your door does not operate on 433.92 MHz. And somehow that is the Sellers fault.
If you bought the wrong item, you are responsible for the return postage, and yes it must be via a tracked service.
I see you figured out how to leave Neg FB. Now all you need to do is figure out how the rest of ebay works.
By the way, Reviews are for products, not sellers.
Other members cannot solve this for you
Nor are you allowed to name and shame on the forum (as you agreed to when signing up)
Did you buy the wrong one
If so, does the seller accept change of mind returns?
If you bought the wrong one, it is on you to pay postage if you want to return it
No arrogance on the seller's part there whatsoever , if that is what the heading is based on
or did the seller send you the wrong one?
If the seller sent you something other than what you bought, then the seller has no say in it, you open an item not as described case if you did not get what you ordered as described in the ad
Unless of course you have left it too late to do that (by the sound of it)
The seller cannot 'close the review' either (and reviews are for products, not sellers, that is what feedback is for) and you have given him a neg, which the public can see
Pretty sure the VCAT will tell you the same thing, but go for it
OK, so now you've left a neg for the seller - but 2 things show for me.
Firstly the seller has terrible feedback and I wouldn't have bought from them in a fit.
Secondly, are you certain that the original remote is compatible with the one you bought off that seller - if it isn't then the return is a "change of mind" return, and as such YOU are responsible for the return postage IF the seller accepts change of mind returns - some do and some don't.
Not exactly sure VCAT will be too interested in a $16.50 eBay dispute - especially one where the purchaser is at fault.
What lesson do you want to give?
You have not said anywhere where the sell has done anything wrong
You’ve made no mention of the seller sending something other than what the listing stated nor that the item was faulty on arrival
Let us know where the seller at fault
From what you have posted, you look like the arrogant and unreasonable party
The listing mentions the door models the remote is compatible with.
If your door is not listed, you have to pay for return postage.
