I wanted to contact ebay online support as its after 5pm and ebay email support can take forever for a response...
I cannot find virtual emma or any virtual support anymore - has it gone?
secondly I purchased an item recently where the buyer had higher postage than necessary on the item (even including handling/env etc) .. so I asked prior to bidding if I were successful would they send in a 3kg satchel - they agreed.
I "won" the auction, however they need to edit the invoice for me to make correct paypal payment.
they want bank deposit. as a seller I prefer bank deposit however I do not stop buyers paying by paypal if they want to as it is an ebay rule and I want my customers to return.
for my purchase I want to pay by paypal as a) I have the money in my balance and b) it is a larger purchase and I want paypal protection having never dealt with the seller before.
I cannot see their paypal address to make payment, ebay takes you through direct and I cannot get them to edit the invoice they keep saying they want bank deposit. yes I could leave negative feedback, give up on the sale, but I don't think thats all that fair. any way I can get their paypal address or any other ideas other than reporting them to ebay and possible acc suspension for them?
Its all too hard and I won't be purchasing from this seller again.

Adivse the seller you will pay with paypal and only paypal, unless they have credit card facilities or paymate.
They must offer at least one safe payment method.
The seller needs to adjust your invoice with the correct postage (Not hit recalculate after adjusting the invioice) and then send you the invoice, and you should be able to pay (via safe method) from there.
If the seller refuses paypal/paymate/credit card - do not pay and report them to eBay.

Of course they want to cancel the sale. Reject.
Just leave them the deserved neg and move on. They obviously factor the extra costs of selling on eBay into postage.
Be happy. After 6 May postage costs will be subject to sale fees. Every seller will have to pay fees for postage (even though eBay have nothing to do with postage) and so the cost of items will probably increase by 5%.
Send eBay a message of thanks that the postage pirates have been nullified.

then they had the nerve to say they'd report me as non paying bidder.
so crooked seller reported to ebay, ebay phoned them this morning but of course they didn't pick up. negative feedback left
ebay of course can read the correspondence between myself and the seller and that I have wanted to make payment since day one and they have acknowledged if they attempt to lodge a non paying bidder claim it will be removed from my acc and reported on theirs. meanwhile they will wear the fvf of the item which is pretty close to the fees from paypal anyway
the transaction was actually on my other user id, was logged in on this one when I posted on the forum.
moving right along ...
