(3 out of 3, perfect score and yes 3 different sellers)
i think this is an annoyance tactic used by big sellers to avoid their responsibility because the would know that a certain percentage of customers would give up their case at this point!
Is Ebay aware of this?
Any comments?

If you are referring to photos being requested for damaged goods then I think it is a perfectly reasonable request. On the rare occasion I have received damaged items a seller doesn't have to ask me for photos as I consider it my duty to supply them when I notify them of the damage!

Out of a total of about 20 purchases? That's a fairly high percentage of grief. I would be wanting a LOT of evidence in that instance.

Without details being provided, I might also add to the other responses here that if the "grievance" was that the item arrived in a damaged condition, the seller may well have insured the parcel and many carriers require photographic evidence of the damaged item and packaging, and may also require the buyer to hold both for inspection if required.
If you want a refund, you will be required to return the item first, if you can possibly avoid the hassle of doing that by snapping a pic on your mobile phone and sending it off to the seller so they can decide whether it is worth getting the item back, why would you not do so?

I've already commented that it is easy to take a photo & post it through but have you thought that maybe the sellers are asking for a photo because you're a bit vague?
Look at your post here.
You ask us for comments, stating sellers 'pointlessly' ask for photos when you have 'a grievance'.
That's awfully vague & wishy washy, how on earth are we supposed to know if the request was pointless unless we know specifically what the grievances were?
That's the pivotal point.
If, for instance, you bought an electrical appliance and it wasn't working preoperly then yes, a photo request would be a bit pointless.
If on the other hand, you had a clothing item with tears in the seam or glassware with cracks then a photo would be perfectly reasonable.
What I am wondering is how you phrase your message to the seller. Are you detailed and specific or do you just say-this item is faulty?

Springy, I have a feeling the OP will not be back as she has not had the sort of response she wanted/expected. The sellers have not made pointless requests as has now been pointed out rather forcefully.

I'd say you're right & we're not likely to see OP replying.
But... she/he was well aware this was a messageboard & asked for comments, so I would bet my last dollar OP will at least have a peek and read what is said.

Someone understands me! thank you so much.!
Of course if the photo could help in ANY WAY i would make sur my photo explicitly showed the problem.
if the photo can not in any possible way show the problem then either ther buyer has a language problem or
as i suspect it is a routine to avoid fixing a certain percentage of problems due to a certain percaentage of the buyers "Giving Up"
As i pointed out this is 3 out of three in my case, i am suspicious and want others experiences aired not just comments from people who want t say something even though they don't get it!

Please study the question and yes, you don't understand.

Yes, an electrical motor not working would be hard to photograh
So would heat shrink with glue that has no glue
So would a memory card that keeps falling out of a camera
So would the missing clamp on a fan.....
lke i said, in my case, 3 out of 3!
