All that has gone awry.....

It's a bit annoying..........actually pathethic....I used to be a 'seller', having a fantastic time, engaging my dying sister in an 'outside interest' to distract her from the chemo........selling assorted and sometimes magnificent stuff ( with excellent feedback ). Then came the 'extra fees'......unrealistic postage times ( even though the seller had posted same day).....and finally ...AN EXTRA CHARGE ON YOUR POSTAGE....???? HELLO......if they could track personal email contact, surely they could root out the sellers who were avoiding basic fees???????? There were ALWAYS the usual eBay 'stooges' that were like frontmen/women that denigrated anyone with an alternate view ( one in particular that I recall - living half her/his time in the UK and the other half in Aus). Many sellers announced the fact that they were exiting the arena...and were bagged..relentlessly. I chose to just slip away......happy to buy ( so far)...but also much happier to sell anything out of the spare room/shed...in our local area, on another platform. They, eBay, keep sending me emails.........."We miss you" ..."Your buyers miss you"......well, sorry.....as soon as you started descriminating against the 'backyard/ amateur/down-to-earth/ therapeutic sellers' to bulk up your cheap MULTI PROFIT players from China down ( where your stringent feedback rules don't even register on their feedback account). eBay SUCKS

Goats love blackberries and blackberries are weeds....hence goats love weeds.

They are also rather partial to thistles, also weeds.

I've had friends who have had both goats and sheep and the goats did tend to eat a more varied diet than the sheep. The sheep were allowed to spend time in the house yard, whereas the goats weren't. The goats liked to eat the clothes on the line. They liked to get in the car and chew the seats and steering wheel (yes, they could open the doors and had I not seen it, I'd never have believed it).

They both loved roses and they'd both ring bark trees. The goats would eat the Scotch thistles, whereas the sheep didn't. They would both eat blackberries. I cringed one time when I was there for a BBQ and one of the goats grabbed onto a blackberry "branch/runner" and then ran her mouth along it to strip the leaves off. How she didn't shred the inside of her mouth was anyone's guess.

They also had a couple of pet pigs and they didn't eat as much as the others, but they'd destroy everything by digging for roots. They were never allowed in the house yard unsupervised. They were allowed inside the house, just not outside on their own.

Why do I get this strange feeling the Paccies are going to demolish the top end of my property ??????

Will they eat the roses, the Lillypillies, the native shrubs or the lovely hedge? Maybe they'll just eat the dandelions and thistles.

"searches internet for Paccie Casserole/Curry, just in case..................sigh."

Padi, paccies are not as destructive as goats....not by a long chalk.

My daughter had goats on her horse property to keep the weeds at bay and let the grass grow for the horses who were much more picky about their eating habits.

They were also pretty good at dispatching the occasional snake and clearing the land for a round yard....she just locked them in the round yard and didn't let them out till the ground was bare.

Horses house well with goats and/or sheep. In fact, people with horses should graze them with goats/sheep and people with sheep should graze them with horses. Excellent for parasite control. The horses kill the goat/sheep worms and the goats/sheep kill the horse worms. Especially beneficial if you have issues with encysted small strongyles.......which can kill a horse without showing any symptoms (and are not visible on an egg count slide).

Spoiler
I have a fascination for parasites in grass eating animals and I also run faecal egg counts for farmer friends so they know if they need to drench. Horses are a challenge because not everything shows up in a faecal.
I think my "favourite" egg would be the tapeworm. A cute little triangle.

In regards to Padi's Paccas, I don't know a huge amount about them, but Arrum lillies, rhododendrens and the wilting or sprouting leaves on stone fruit trees (Autumn and Spring) are toxic. The leaves produce a higher concentration of **bleep**nic when growing or wilting. Arrums can kill in minutes.

I would also check if you are in a selenium deficient area. That info should be available on the WA DPI site. If it's a severely deficient area, you'll need to supplement.

Spoiler
There's no FVF on postage for paccas.

Thanks for tip on Selenium as well, I read about that in my paccie book as a suppliment, will check it out with the Ag Dept. I do have some daffodils in the bottom paddock that'll have to go when I let them down there - after the mollycoddling in the top paddock by the house when they first arrive.

Spoiler
No fvf on daffies either.
