(** New to Boards....Please Don't Eat Me **)
Hi - I have noticed there doesn't seem to be any "wanted" section (not that I could find).....why is this?
I am trying to find some particular things - any OLD themed Pumpkin Patch "Fairy Kitten" baby stuff....and despite doing heaps of searches I get irrelevant stuff - probably cos this is not commonly around anymore.
How does it "help" buyers or sellers.....if there is nowhere to ask for a specific item, when, like this case, it may be harder to come by and not be as simple as doing a search properly?
(OR....there IS a wanted section - I am blind.....and this is a moot post....in which case I humbly crawl away.....)
I should write this in green cos I am as green as grass on so many things.....(but for all I know that is not the done thing either)....but as I say - please don't eat me!
Thanks in advance....

The "want it now" section was removed a while back due to some sellers abusing the site to try and spam buyers, so all you can do is look in the normal searches and add them to your "saved searches", then you'll get an email when new items are listed.
You can refine the searches a bit to weed out the stuff you don't want to see by putting for example "pumpkin patch, baby clothes, fairy kitten, -dolls, -new", or using the filter in advanced search to block sellers that obviously don't sell what you want.
Good luck.
Still slow on typing..............sigh...........hi Ambs and Lyndal..............

No, we don't eat newbies here....they are not easy to digest.
And you are not blind either so no need to crawl away.....there used to be a Wanted section but ebay discontinued it as they believed it was encouraging Off ebay transactions.
All you can do now is enter a detailed search for the item/s you want and save it. You will get a notification if/when the items are listed.
Good luck in your search.

Thank you kind people....glad Newbies are hard to digest - ha ha!
I shall just crawl away cos I didn't even know you could save a search....methinks me may need glasses - or maybe just slow down and read-the-blurb.....or something.
I appreciate the info....makes me a bit sad though - about the used-to-be Wanted section being abused etc etc.... why can't people just play nice?!? Hmmmm......
OK...off to go re-check the whole search thingo and do some creative search-n-saving...LOL!

Glad to be able to help (luckily I'd just eaten..................)
If you want to refine your search to exclude sellers you don't want, then go to the LHS of the search and click on "more refinements" in blue, that will take you to a drop-down menu, at the bottom of that is "sellers" click on that and you'll see where you can exclude sellers from your search.
Once I decide to save a search I put in "newly listed" at the top where it says "sort by", otherwise you don't get to easily see new listings.
Have fun and good luck..

No problem, glad to help - we were all newcomers to the eBay minefield once, I have to say that the respondants here helped me a lot in my early days (and sometimes still do.........as my siggy says)
I guess I just try and give a bit back now when I can...............

Whenever you've just had a Padi's Pizza sans Merlot of course, or any other time that's not good for feeding on newcomers.
(perhaps when you just can't handle one more after-dinner mint....................."Monty Python")
