I absolutely will not use the cart because I know it sterfs sellers around too much
with combined invoices.
I purchased (committed to buy) 7 items from one seller.
I deliberately didn't 'add to cart', but 'continued shopping with this seller'
I then asked the seller for a combined invoice. I've purchased from her before
It's a letter purchase, so the postage should still only be $1 instead of $7
I've since noticed that the items have been put in my cart and the seller is not
responding.
Unusual for her, and she's been listing since, so I know she's been on-line.
I have asked twice via two different avenues
(BTW....paying the full $7 postage is out of the question for these items)
My question is.....do I have to delete them from my cart and re-purchase? (PITA)
Or will they be thrown into the cart again by ebay?

If they are showing in your purchase history as bought and awaiting payment, I'd wait for the invoice - the purchases should actually show up with a notification on the selling page ("Buyers have requested an invoice on X items"), and the actual items in the seller's sold history with have a special icon with "Total requested" or somesuch in red if the 'request total' or 'request invoice' function has been used.
For whatever it might be worth, as a seller, in many cases I actually wish more buyers would use the cart (as long as it's functioning correctly), probably doesn't apply here but just thought I'd put it out there - more particularly with multiple item purchases and the buyer is on a phone, as it's the easiest way to make a single payment for more than one item (I have automatic postage discounts set up, though).

Thanks Digi.
This particular seller doesn't have auto postage set up - dunno why
I've never had a problem with her before, and why did they end up in my cart?
I didn't put them there.
It's been 2 days already, and I know she's been on-line

I think purchases awaiting payment are now being added to the cart, so people who BIN or win auctions can make fewer payments when they go through checkout.
I just realised, though, that the above info I posted is only applicable to the old selling page - if the seller has switched to the new Seller Hub, things may display differently and I'm not sure what they might be seeing for recent sales, invoice requests etc. I do know that some sellers have said there's a few glitches and other things are harder to find (or easier to miss), so that may explain the sudden change in response. I'd try a direct message (if you haven't already, that is).

Stawks, for some time items won/bought have been added to the Cart. I was buying/winning multiple auctions from a seller and paying when I estimated I had filled a satchel.
I was really surprised to find the whole order in my Cart once the seller had added the postage.
I was about to take advantage of a discount voucher so had gone to my cart to pay. I tried paying for Multiple Items, including my (mostly) auctions order and bingo...it went through. I really did not expect it to.
As for your current problem....I tried to pay for items in my cart to take advantage of a recent promotion. It just did not work so I had to "buy" each one separately and use Checkout to combine them into one purchase to take advantage of the discount offer.
It is all getting too difficult these days.

It is difficult. I've messaged her again, by a third method
I'll give her another go.
And BTW....I have never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever had a voucher!!!!!
Of any kind

The vouchers I am talking about are the offers (with Codes) on ebay that are open to everyone who meets the terms. I rarely get any offers that are exclusive to me/my account now. I got the odd one years ago when I was a newbie and ebay wanted to encourage me to buy, buy, buy. It would be nice to be rewarded occasionally for doing just that.
The last one that I was trying to use was the Click and Collect at Big W.....I was left trying to make the cart payment work and then do it through Checkout by buying each item separately.....payment was completed at 11.57....just 2 minutes left. I was a nervous wreck and the language was pretty blue too.
Please remind me to never, never, never use C & C again.
I bought 4 different items....the first one arrived at Big W within 48 hours and I received the notice to pick it up.
The second one arrived 2 days later....this time I got 2 notices to pick up....along with a further 3 notices for the 1st item.
I had to wait till the weekend to get to Big W and during that time I received multiple notices to pick up the 2 items....20 in total.
Today I received 3 notices to pick up the third item...by the 3rd November. Not even the usual 7 days. Not happy Jan.

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
I never need anything with those vouchers.....well, not yet anyway.
I'd have to go on a safari and take a packed lunch to find a Big W
and I live in suburbia
