I have been a huge supporter of EBay. Not any more. Amazon ships to Aus in 5 days the rate is reasonable. I just paid $56US for shipping USA to Aus for a watch and it will take 14 days. The original seller was in New Jersey. But cos of this program he had to ship it to KY. Then it gets shipped to Aus. Never again. Sorry Ebay you can only rip people once. A very very bad service
I just looked at that watch listing.
There is nothing untoward about that listing postage/shipping. It was showing there before you hit the Buy-It-Now button and committed to the purchase.
If you think that A$56 is excessive and that having the item sent to Erlanger KY and then shipped via the GSP is somehow unreasonable then you should not have bought the item.
When buyers commit to an item, and the GSP shipping that is clearly shown on the listing, then buyers can only blame themselves if they think the shipping is too expensive or too slow . . . . . . . after all, nobody forces them to buy.
This stance might seem harsh, but think about it . . . . . what is the hurry? If you needed a watch by a certain date then buy from an Australian seller or from a retail outlet. Did anybody make you buy this particular watch or was this watch not available in Australia or cheaper than those available here in Australia?

Robert, when I look at the listing it shows A$56 postage/shipping
Did you know the cost of shipping before you did the Buy-It-Now?

it appears that your mistake was in assuming that having paid that much for shipping that the watch would arrive quickly.
Is that brand/model of watch available here in Australia? If yes, how does the price compare to what you paid?
(Have I got the listing correct in m screengrab? Was I looking at the correct watch?)

Hence like many others that have posted all I was saying was $56 just a bit rich for a 14 day arrival program
the listing I looked at did say 9-14 business days for delivery. So they never represented the shipping as 5 business days.
The listing I looked at shows that you bought on the 30th May, which is the 31st here in Australia.
14 business days from the 31st May is not until the 21st June.

Yes it was my mistake in Assuming , i am not going to argue with you over this ,
My mistake , $56 for Priority shipping ????? thats all i am saying
never again , like some one else wrote - Buyer Beware of this Program
its been a hoot

I have no idea why ebay chooses to call it a Priority service when it is definitely not. FedEx is only paid for an Economy service to Australia.
This means that once the item arrives in Australia FedEx still has up to 3 weeks to deliver it.
Most small items are dispatched with Australia Post eParcel and the larger packages are delivered by FedEx or another company if FedEx does not deliver to that area.

Buyers beware before you purchase from US sellers check that they do not use the Global shipping program. You will have to pay 2 shipping costs. One for the seller to ship the item to the shipping company in the US. And a second exorbitant cost (min of aboutUS$25) to then ship to you. A simple $5 purchase becomes $50 before you know it. To make it worse most of the yanks don't even know they have signed up for it. This has to be one of ebays biggest rip offs yet!
It's a damned curse! Once I had to use it as there were some very rare items. I paid around double postage and then there were hassles here in Australia with me having to provide extra detaills or they would be send back to the sender in the US.
I have been hown here by another member, Lyndal on how to instruct sellers to opt out of the Global Shipping so that the page hopefully can be listed with USPS First Class International or other forms of USPS being cheaper. I've just sent instructions now. Problem is if it is a rare item and a "Buy it now", by the time the seller gets back to you, it may be too late. Some other enthusiastic buyer/collecter could have snapped it up! Also if making an offer, it's going to look a bit rude to ask seller to change the postage settings so you don't have to pay IE: USD $32 postage for something that would normally cost USD $14 and then make a $5 offer on an item that has $16.
I just wish Global Shipping Pitney Bowes never appeared here and so do many others.
