Did you really expect a different answer after there were bids on the listing?
How many times have you been told to ask questions before bidding?

Seller also said 8 watching the item so maybe I wont win auction as I sure am not putting any more money on them.
If I win bidding it will cost about AU $185.00 for this item(post included).
Why did you show your hand so early in the auction?
If you had waited till the last few hours or even minutes of the auction you may have won at a lower price. By placing bids so early you are leaving yourself wide open to being outbid.

do the right thing by the seller and cancell your bids if you do not want to win !!!
ask questions before you start bidding the seller could have been happy to sell you just one if you had done the right thing and just asked

Personally, I think the seller has put the two together because
one is rare and the other is common.
Big price for two...........No takers for just the common one on it's own.

Methinks you're right imastawka.
Michelle, please take away from this thread- DO NOT bid on items you're a bit iffy on.
A bid is a committment to pay, for EXACTLY what you've bid on and all it entails. Negotiating changes after the sale is tricky and uncertain of success, even when it happens unintentionally or by accident or whatever. You seem to be doing it somewhat knowingly, and with all due respect, don't seem to have the skills to get yourself out of it when it goes pear-shaped.
Please sweetheart, don't do this again.

Emailed seller about it finally and made it short & sweet the answer from them is "NO". Selling dolls as pair only. -Michelle

You already knew that though. The auction was for the two dolls together. If the seller wnted to sell them separately, she would have listed them separately. You had a real hide to even ask. If they got passed in, fair enough, you could enquire about purchasing one, but not during the auction.
Why on earth would you think a person would change the auction after bidding started? Mind you, I bet the seller is sort of hoping you won't win either, you sound like trouble.
To me it doesn't sound as if you are getting a bad deal. $185 including postage for 2 dolls and the doll you wanted was $200 from a different seller? You're getting a bargain and you can always sell off the one you don't need.
But I am still trying to come to terms with you as a bidder who bids & expects a seller might change auction conditions after a sale, just to suit you. It was rude, to put it bluntly.
