Buy it now, Pay by paypal and local pickup question

Hi guys,

Just a few questions plz.

I made an offer for an item which costs more than $1.5K and it was accepted and the item is listed for local pick up only . My question are, can I pay the seller cash on pick up or I can only pay by paypal? What do I do if I pay by paypal then when picking up the item, discover that it is not as described or doesn't work?

It would be best to pay by cash AFTER you've inspected the item and are happy with it.

Before you hand over your hard earned, have you checked the seller's feedback? As padi said, make sure you check it thoroughly before payment. Can you find it cheaper elsewhere where you can get a valid guarantee?

I certainly would not be handing over that kind of money for anything from anywhere sight unseen

Sure I wouldn't want to pay and pick up the item later. I used to buy many items from ebay and paid cash on pickup before but haven't done that for a long time so not sure if ebay changed the rule. I remembered some1 said you now can't do cash on pick up anymore - only by paypal. So I just wanna check with you guys here first. Thx.
