Davewil you post off topic more often than not just to put an OP or a poster down. I remember a meme I posted accidentally once, well sir think of that meme now - that is my last direct message to you or your posts sir.

Kettle,black.

You accuse someone else for taking your bait and that's what you've tried to do for the entire thread,(in case you

don't know, what you are doing is against board policy and can lead to permanent expulsion from the boards).

No one is correct according to you but you have not shown the "correct" answer,(after all if everyone else is wrong

you must know the correct answers).

So please reply to the OP and give them the correct answer,(accordind to you anyway).

That would make your one post that's on topic.

ANSWER:  Yes, you can

HOW:  You can send the seller an eBay message to ask them.

HOW TO PAY:  If the seller says yes then you can send the required funds as a PayPal "Send money" transaction.  If you paid by Bank Deposit you can pay more into their account.

Wow this thread has changed a little since last night.

My main issue is with experienced sellers telling a buyer that that don't need insurance because "paypal will cover them" this is not the case.

As far as a chargeback goes with a bank how much proof of posting do they need? The bank can not steal my money either.

Dylan, I was not going to bother updating this thread but seeing as you are here...I have just had an email from the seller in the UK re the lost parcel from last December.  After all this time she recently received a mis-addressed letter from Royal Mail giving her a copy of "my signature" (it definitely is not my signature).  Royal Mail had already turned down her claim for the insurance that was paid for.

She is now considering legal action.

If the situation were reversed it would not be worth my while looking at legal action, but maybe things are different (and cheaper) in the UK.  Here it would be put in the hands of the Ombudsman.

Hi All , thought i might chime in with a recent experience.

Purchased an item from the US , not an ebay transaction , but paid through Paypal.

The item was sent via Fedex , no extra insurance on my part.

INR dispute was found in favour of the seller.

Phoned Paypal and they agreed that the tracking on Fedex site showed item had been delivered and signed for----but person that signed was not me. No signature shown but not my name.

Paypal  straight away reversed the decision.

Monies were credited to my account in less than 48 hours----top service , smooth as.

Dont know if Paypal or seller ended up paying.

Regards

The thing with paypal "decisions" you often are not clear if other paypal have covered the $$$ or if the other party to the transaction has.

In the case of my International transaction I do know that the seller lost the money and was not paid the insurance money either.

In the case of the interstate transaction, no, I do not know for sure but in view of the fact that the seller escalated the dispute I assume she was confident that she would not lose the money....but I still received my refund.
