Cancelled Transaction

How do sellers get away with auctioning an item, then when they dont get the price they want, to then cancel the transaction??

Re: Cancelled Transaction

Sellers don't get away with it without censure unless buyers let them, if you pay straight away as most people do you are free to leave them a neg and only one star rating and if they have the hide to ask for a mutual cancellation you can refuse it so they have to pay the fvf, they also have to refund your money so obviously it isn't something a sensible seller will do more than once.

If it is a complete newbie I will cut them some slack as the chances are they took ebay's insane advice to start auctions at .99c, I tell them what I could do but don't actually do anything except refuse a mutual cancellation in the hope they will have learned a valuable lesson.

Re: Cancelled Transaction

eBay aren't law enforcers, nor do they have anything to do with the contract formed between a buyer and a seller. If you want a contracrt honoured between yourtself and the contracting party, only those parties involved in the contract can take action to enforce it.

Why do people get away with breaking a contract?

Because the non defaulter either doesn't take the correct rectifying procedures or takes none at all.

Re: Cancelled Transaction

are you sure you can leave feadback on a canceled item ? I've had one seller cancelled my purchased item minuted after I won an auction and paid for, I've try to look for an option to leave that seller feadback , I couldn't find that option.

Re: Cancelled Transaction

Yes Emily, PJ is correct.  The only time feedback cannot be left by either party is when the seller opens and closes a Non Paying Bidder dispute and the buyer is given a strike.

In all other forms of cancellation feedback can still be left.
