Most sellers are really good at posting when they say they will. But am starting to get problems with some who do nothing after payment without a bit of prompting. I always pay as soon as I have bought an item. Now I am going to purchase but not pay until the seller asks me too. At least I know then there is somewhere there! And I will ask if they are mailing straight after they receive payment. If they don't, it will show in the feedback.

Do you have a question or do you just us to reassure you that your questionable practices are OK?
JMO but I hope the seller opens an unpaid item dispute to get his money. Do you intend to throw in a bit of feedback extortion by advising the seller that his feedback will suffer if he does not post immediately? What is his handling time....as long as he posts within that time he is doing nothing wrong and ebay will remove your feedback.

Great idea, but it may backfire!
In spite of f/back being a great threathening tool, an instant "feel good" tablet and a smug satisfaction of "" that's telling them"
it may be removed if seller can prove that they have posted it within the time specified in the listing, ie: 3 working days, 5 working days
They don't have to drop everything to post your item instantly they see the payment - in fact, with holding of the payment and asking them if they post there and then you have a much better chance of delaying it even further - most of them would take the maximum time within their time allowance to post.

It is a shame you're allowing a few less than perfect sellers change your buying behaviour. I would hazard a guess that you didn't think this kind of buying behaviour was appropriate beforehand, but in fact see it as a form of 'payback' - I hope your (and/or other) sellers don't respond with the same idea.

I take it you realise that a lot of sellers read these boards, even if they do not post.
A post such as yours may ring alarm bells with many of them. They may well decide that they would prefer not to risk dealing with you at all and add you to their Blocked Bidders List.

Once you have paid for an item the seller should send it as soon as possible without any deliberate delays. However having said that, some sellers stipulate handling time up front, so buyers need to make sure before they hit the buy it now button.
I do not agree with not paying for the item once you hit the buy it now, because it is a breach of contract.
Poor communication is the cause of most disputes.........

The seller is quite entitled to wait the handling time before posting. There is absolutely nothing that says they must post as soon as the buyer pays. If they have 2 days or a week as handling time then that is as soon as they are obliged to post.
It would be interesting to see the handling time on some of the listings the OP is complaining about.
