Chinese Lexus Android Stereo Unit

Early this year I bought a Chinese Android stereo display unit. It arrived with the wrong harness. After many emails, they said if I paid $12.50, the correct harness would be sent, it never arrived.  Many more emails were exchanged with no outcome. They are now not answering my emails. I now have $700 of useless kit sitting around.

I would caution Lexus owners to think twice before buying these units from China.

Why did you not open an item not as described dispute, and follow through with it?

Pointless to send emails, especially 'many' emails

You are right, such things should absolutely not be bought from random sellers in China

But even if people choose to do so, there is no use playing the seller's games

Follow through with it

And the seller cannot ask for more money to send what they should have sent to start with

Another scam is Blume Heaters. They are not as advertised, they also add items to the order without permission. I have opened a dispute with PayPal.

If you opened a proper ebay dispute, you needed to keep an eye on it.

If you just open it and go away, do nothing more, it will time out.

Your post is a bit puzzling in that I don't know why you agreed to pay extra for the correct harness, the one that should have been supplied in the first place. Surely the fact the item received was not as described in the ad would have been the whole point of your ebay claim?

All I can think of now is if you paid via paypal you may be able to make a claim but have all your documentation on hand.

According to Choice - May 2024

Which means they could burn down your house  and / or kill you.

Interesting to note that Amazon's reply to Choice was

"We are also reviewing mechanisms including our filters and blocks to stop these items from being listed in the future"

and eBay's response was

"We have removed the items CHOICE identified and have also swept our site to remove similar listings from sale"  

only relying on reporting of the items in the future !
