Kopes we buy from China because Aussie retailers charge 200x more for the same stuff and often we can get the items from China for less than just the postage costs here.
With that in mind and the protection afforded to buyers I ask you why you wouldn't? Unless you're in a hurry for it to arrive.
just out of curiosity, and nothing else, can you give me an example of what items cost 200x more from Aussie sellers? I am truly interested.

Slr there's actually quite a lot of items that are a matter of cents in Asia including postage that would be $2-3 here. In fact I've often bought them to resell over here.
I'd still be interested in seeing an example

SpoilerI'd look for some myself except that I am time poor at the moment. Getting 750 sq m of concreting done around the yard is taking its toll on me. That is one reason why I have not posted much these last 6 weeks.
I've snagged a few good bargains from one of my regular sellers in China recently. Normally she lists auctions starting at 1c with free postage. More often than not she gets a reasonable price for them, but they are still cheap enough whereby I can make a profit if I decide to resell them. Lately she's been listing auctions with postage, but still starting at 1c. Those auctions weren't selling.
I looked at the postage cost of each one and realised it was less than what my maximum bid would have been so put a bid on. Most of them I got for less than 10c and she only charged me one lot of postage. I was happy to pay postage on all of them because they still worked out really cheap.Instead I got an even bigger bargain than I thought. Several of the items were won with the starting bid of 1c. Most of them I have bought to keep.
She went back to free postage and was getting lots of bids again, but this week all her auctions have postage, so I'm hoping to snag a few more bargains. She has a large store and only lists between 5 and 10 auctions a week, so good to get something cheap. Most of this weeks listings are things I want to keep for me, but there are 2 that would be good resellers if I get them for the start price plus postage.
I've also won several bulk lot items from India whereby the cost of each item worked out to be under $1. Most resell for over $20. Some have gone upwards of $80.
