Chinese Reborn Doll sellers

I buy & collect Reborn Dolls, I purchased 1 about 8 months ago from china, all was good, doll showed up within 4 weeks. I purchased another 2 , still from China, but from a different online store, the dolls I ordered never showed up, but 2 other dolls that were 5x smaller & looked nothing like the 2 dolls I ordered , & were 5X cheaper, but were not nice,& not what I wanted, My money was refunded & the online shopping customer service told me to keep the dolls. I then ordered another reborn from china, from again doll did not show up, money was refunded. They ask you to wait up to 5 weeks for delivery, once you report the item not shown up, they ask you to wait another 3 days, Which I did, money was again refunded. I have since ordered 2 more dolls this time from ebay as I had no trouble the first time, both dolls have not shown up, the sellers are now no longer registered users. I have been refunded for 1 doll, but am waiting on the other as I only just opened case. Now, are these unscrupulous dishonest sellers taking peoples money, banking it for 6-7 weeks, collecting the interest before refunding buyers money? I guess there would be around say $25,000 worth of sales per week (Guesstimate) in Australia alone, with the interest & exchange rate these dishonest sellers have found a loophole & are making probably $5,000 Australian dollars every 2 months, & thats just in Australia. Can ebay investigate overseas sellers & their business practice if they notice lots of people opening cases against them? And has anyone else had problems with buying from china. I noticed these people have multiple stores on multiple online shopping websites. Can they be named on a forum like this to warn others. I'm sick of being ripped off.

Kopes we buy from China because Aussie retailers charge 200x more for the same stuff and often we can get the items from China for less than just the postage costs here.

With that in mind and the protection afforded to buyers I ask you why you wouldn't? Unless you're in a hurry for it to arrive.

just out of curiosity, and nothing else, can you give me an example of what items cost 200x more from Aussie sellers?  I am truly interested.

Slr there's actually quite a lot of items that are a matter of cents in Asia including postage that would be $2-3 here. In fact I've often bought them to resell over here.

I'd look for some myself except that I am time poor at the moment.  Getting 750 sq m of concreting done around the yard is taking its toll on me.  That is one reason why I have not posted much these last 6 weeks.

I've snagged a few good bargains from one of my regular sellers in China recently. Normally she lists auctions starting at 1c with free postage. More often than not she gets a reasonable price for them, but they are still cheap enough whereby I can make a profit if I decide to resell them. Lately she's been listing auctions with postage, but still starting at 1c. Those auctions weren't selling.

I looked at the postage cost of each one and realised it was less than what my maximum bid would have been so put a bid on. Most of them I got for less than 10c and she only charged me one lot of postage. I was happy to pay postage on all of them because they still worked out really cheap.Instead I got an even bigger bargain than I thought. Several of the items were won with the starting bid of 1c. Most of them I have bought to keep.

She went back to free postage and was getting lots of bids again, but this week all her auctions have postage, so I'm hoping to snag a few more bargains. She has a large store and only lists between 5 and 10 auctions a week, so good to get something cheap. Most of this weeks listings are things I want to keep for me, but there are 2 that would be good resellers if I get them for the start price plus postage.

I've also won several bulk lot items from India whereby the cost of each item worked out to be under $1. Most resell for over $20. Some have gone upwards of $80.

What tippy said.....

Mostly stuff I buy is maybe resold here for a 50 to 100% markup but often a much higher one. As tippy says you can get some surprising bargains.
