No, but I would hazard that Customs might look at them closely.
I don't buy coffee or pods, but I certainly wouldn't do it from Germany. After all, what regions of Germany are tropical enough to grow coffee?
Here's an idea - why not buy your coffee pods/capsules from an Australian seller? Or, given the minimal amount of coffee they are alleged to contain, buy yourself a cheap expresso machine? In the medium run, either is probably cheaper and more convenient.

A friend in the US once sent me some Starbucks instant coffee, single sized servings individually sealed in sachets. My package was opened by customs and inspected, but they didn't have any problem with it and I received it all in tact (mostly, the box was trashed).
Pods are also individually sealed, so chances are they'd be ok, but I'd still advise seeking an official answer, you should be able to get an answer from customs, or ask someone who imports coffee (or ships here, they might be able to tell you if their Oz customers have experienced any customs issues).

Every year I enter Australia with an opened jar of freeze dried coffee, I have always declared that I have food products and initialy specified the coffee but it was never a problem.
It says in this book I am reading that by 2065 80% of women will be overweight.
See what a trendsetter I am?

Freeze dried or roasted beans are not a problem through customs. All bugs have been killed during the process. But pods are different. Agree with dave on this one, BUY LOCAL for what very little you may save buying from a country that doesnt even grow coffee, if they were to even be sent in the first place.

Are you after a specific brand?
then I can see why you might want them, even from Germany.
your best bet would be to get as precise details about the product as you can, before you buy, then talk to Australian Customs.
so you know for sure.
