Contacting Seller

Hi all,

Hope you can help!  I purchased an item the other day and made prompt payment using paypal.  I have noticed that the payment status of this item is still pending.  When I look at my paypal account it states the payment is 'unclaimed'.  I have tried to contact the buyer at least 5 times, without response.  Not sure what to do now.  It appears the seller is only new to ebay so it may be a case of them still learning.  Any thoughts?

Thanks

I gather you mean you tried to contact the seller since you are the buyer.

The seller may need to make sure that the email addy with the listing is linked with their PayPal account or the payment will be in limbo.

If they haven't contacted you or fixed the problem in say 4 days (up to you) then i would look at other options including an INR so that you get your payment back.I don't see how hard it is to reply to your email at least,so i would be less patient with them, newby or not.

I think if there is a payment problem that you can cancel it with PayPal & if the seller fixes the problem at their end,the you can repay it & proceed with the transaction.Prob best to check in PayPal about this, sorry i don't have time as i have to check in with someone in hospital right now.

Other posters will give more accurate info.

I have had this happen to me. I noticed a little eggtimer on the payment, it was pending 2 days after I had paid.

I got a shock and wrote to the seller.

What it turned out to be was a  problem with the seller's paypal account.

They talked me through how to cancel my paypal payment by going into my paypal account.

That was easy to do.

Then they asked if I could pay into their bank account as they were having problems getting paypal up and running.

Since their communication had been so instant and detailed, I made a bank deposit.

Big mistake.

It was the last i saw of the money and no further replies to messages.

So my comment to you would be don't panic. Notify the seller but if theu claim a problem with their paypal account, just tell them to let you know when they fix it and you will pay then as you don't do bank deposits!!

Thanks so much for the response. I need to make sure I do this correctly so I will contact paypal and the seller and again and go from there.  I had a dodgy feeling when I received no response from the seller.  Should always listen to your gut.  Thanks again.
