I bid on an item in Australian $ and won the item. The seller has sent an invoice in GBP.
I will be paying by e-cheque via Paypal. Do Payal do the conversion or should I ask the seller for an invoice in A$ ?

The invocie should have been in the currency that the item was listed in.
Was it the book from the UK? It was listed in AU$ so that is how you should have been invoiced.
Just be sure that you are not being charged more than the listing proice as you will be paying a conversion fee to paypal instead of the AU$ amount of the listing.
I think I would be asking for the invoice in the listing currency.

No it wasnt the book from the UK. Its from a Hong Kong seller. I started the paypal process but it was GBP on 3 pages. I am going to ask the seller for an invoice in AUD which is how I bid on the item.

It is not unusual for Hong Kong sellers to list on the AU site and the UK site...I will take a bet that he had listings in both currencies and has just confused the listings. How does the amount compare...does the GBP amount compare to the AU$ amount that you bid. You could have completed the payment in GBP....paypal would have converted it for you and told you the AU$ amount coming from your bank/credit card.

My paypal invoices me in GBP too, is there something we can do to change it?

What is the Primary currency showing in your paypal account?
It should be showing as AU$.
Have you been paying for everything in GBP? That means you have been paying convserion fees for everything you have paid for through paypal.
