Seller posts $8 free post item as large letter ($2.20). I get AusPost $9.05 excess charge card (over 20mm thick), Post Office lets me take photo to proove it is the item (no return address) and I leave it pending outcome with seller.
Contact seller, says in his T&Cs he does that and it's 'buyers risk' - LOL. Rude reply basically dont expect any refund.
Similar comments in feedback. so I guess a few get flaggedand others go through, maybe most, but still it is his responsibility to pay correct post.
So I've lodge an INR case and left the item at Post Office
Anyine done similar and what was the outcome or other suggestions for what to do?

I avoided such a seller just a few days ago - just by looking at his/her feedback (stating what the OP stated).

It's obvious that you don't like leaving feedback, but I have to wonder why in a case like this you haven't left a neg for the seller to appraise other buyers of the problem.............

So, is there a line in the T&C for the item that says he chances it with Aust Post? I'm not saying that would make it okay, I'm just curious.
Hi K1, here it is (Direct from listing)
MUST READ BEFORE PLACING ORDER:
For peace of mind, we strongly suggest selecting parcel shipping option.. Order will be trackable...

Just to add, while I do not agree with the sellers blurb or shonky mailing, the seller does offer tracked post, so it would appear the OP has opted for untracked post, not sure where OP now stands for INR under new tracked post policies.

Gutter - just to be clear..............
If as a seller you offer - 2 forms of post - one without tracking - the second option - with tracking.
The buyer chooses - without tracking - where does a seller stand - if not seen to be delivered. ??

Not the item, but gives you the seller's other items and description - # 175351140239
Trackable - $5.50 standard and $8 express are listed, as well as Pick up
I would've paid the $5.50 after reading that.

As far as ebay is concerned, if you don't pick it up, then you lose the case.

That depends on what ebay knows. Theoretically, if an item has no tracking number and for whatever reason a buyer doesn't have the item, after ebay's expected delivery date a buyer could claim not received. The buyer could then receive a refund, and dare I say, the seller receive their just deserts.
